Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is ready to fight for his future following reports linking him with a return to Aston Villa. Cahill appears to have slipped out of favour following the arrival of new boss Maurizio Sarri, and reports are rife suggesting the England international could be on the move before Friday.
Clubs outside of the Premier League have until the end of the month to sign players on loan, and reports are rife suggesting that Villa boss Steve Bruce is lining up an ambitious loan deal for Cahill.
Cahill has already enjoyed one spell with Villa, before moving on to Bolton Wanderers, and then Chelsea, where he has become one of the best central defenders in English football.
However his time could now be up at Stamford Bridge as Sarri has his own ideas, and a return to Villa, who are hoping to win promotion back to the Premier League this season, could be an option for him.
Villa need a replacement for former Chelsea legend John Terry and Cahill would appear to be the man at the top of their wanted list, but it has also been claimed he would prefer to stay with the Blues and fight for his place.
