Viola Bid To Keep Hold Of Starlet

Fiorentina are understood to be planning contract talks with Giovanni Simeone amid interest from the Premier League and La Liga. The Argentine forward has been a huge success for La Viola since joining from Genoa last summer, managing 15 goals in 39 Serie A appearances to date.

English outfit Spurs and Spanish club Atletico Madrid, managed by Simeone’s father Diego, have been mooted as possible suitors but Fiorentina are keen to keep hold.
The 23-year-old is under contract until 2022 and Italian reports say Fiorentina intend to offer Simeone a significant pay rise to convince him to extend his deal by a further year.
