Vydra Makes Clarets Exit Block Claim

Matej Vydra claims Sean Dyche rejected six offers from clubs to sign him on loan in January despite his lack of action with Burnley.

The 26-year-old joined the Clarets from Derby County in the summer on the back of finishing top-scorer in the Championship last season. However, the £11million signing has barely figured for the club this term with just three Premier League starts and 15 appearances in all competitions.

Vydra, who has managed two goals across all competitions for the Clarets this season, admitted to being frustrated at his lack of playing time and appeared keen to move in January when numerous clubs were circling for his signature.

But he revealed that Dyche insisted that he was still a big part of his plans at Turf Moor and urged him to be more positive in training sessions.

Speaking ahead of representing the Czech Republic in Friday’s Euro 2020 quqalifier against England at Wembley, Vydra said: “I had six offers to go on loan, but the manager told me that he needs me, because I’m a different type than the other strikers. “So we talked and he told me that I’m doing okay, that everything is fine but suddenly he said an interesting thing: that I’m not smiling enough during the training. “I don’t know, it’s hard for me.

I’m not like Brazilians, smiling all the time. If I’m not playing, maybe it’s noticeable that I’m frustrated.”
