Walcott Proud Of PL Milestone

Everton forward Theo Walcott is proud to have reached 300 appearances in what he feels is the best league in the world.

The 29-year-old made his Premier League debut for Arsenal as a 16-year-old in August 2006 and he reached the 300-game milestone in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Watford at Goodison Park back in December.

Having played 21 times for Southampton, the Stanmore-born ace moved to Arsenal in January 2006 and enjoyed 270 top-flight outings for the Gunners, scoring 65 times.

He played 397 times in all competitions under Arsene Wenger but left to join the Toffees in January 2018.

The England international has scored six league goals from 37 appearances for the Merseysiders and admitted that his footballing journey has exceeded expectations.

“As a personal achievement, it’s fantastic,” he told the Premier League website. “A lot’s changed up until now – a new football club as well – and I couldn’t have dreamt this from day one.”

And it appears as though the pacey wide man is happy to keep plying his trade in England’s top division, adding: “The Premier League has got better.

“The level is just increasing every single year. Young players are coming through now, more so as well.

“The level was so different to every other team but now everyone can beat everyone. That’s why it’s the best league in the world.”
