London Broncos head coach Danny Ward is convinced the gap between Super League and Championship clubs is getting smaller. The Broncos beat Super League Salford Red Devils on Saturday in a hard fought contest in which they triumphed 11-8.
They only managed to score one try through Jay Pitts, but the kicking game from Jarrod Sammut was enough take them over the line as he converted the try and also scored two penalties and a drop goal to help seal victory.
It means they currently lie in fifth and have a real chance of competing in the Million Pound Game, which could see them get promoted to Super League.
And Ward says their results are showing the gap between the two divisions is no longer as big as it used to be.
“It’s massive, it shows how close the gap is between Championship and Super League,” Ward said.
“It’s great for us, we’ve won two games this year which is better than last year and that’s fantastic.
“It was a fantastic performance by the boys and we deserved the win.”
