Warnock Eyes One More Year

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock says he will never manage in the Premier League again but is ready for one more season in the Championship.

Whether that will be with Cardiff remains to be seen and talks with the powers that be will take place today before a decision is taken on his next move.

He is adamant he will never manage in the Premier League again after the Bluebirds were relegated, but his desire to earn a ninth promotion as manager drives him on.

He said: “I’m going to have one more year in the Championship. Hopefully it’ll be nice to get a ninth promotion.” Whether that is with Cardiff, Warnock was coy as he added: “I don’t know.

I’ll see the chairman and the chief executive in London (on Monday) and we’ll just talk about the whole club.” Meanwhile, Warnock was full of pride in his team after they ended their season with a shock 2-0 win at Manchester United. “I thought they did really well.

I didn’t want us to get turned over like we did when we lost 5-1 in the home game, which was embarrassing,” he added. “I didn’t want it to be a damp squib.

I wanted everyone to play to their absolute maximum and give them a good game. “I always thought our front four could cause them problems and I thought we did.

In fact I think if we’d have been a little bit more confident with the final pass we could have scored a few more.”
