Wasps fly-half Jimmy Gopperth will spend most of 2018-19 on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his knee. The number 10 suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury during Wasps’ pre-season loss to Connacht.
Gopperth has now undergone successful surgery on his knee and the club expect him to be absent for up to nine months.
The club said in an injury update: “Jimmy Gopperth has undergone an ACL reconstruction following an injury sustained in Connacht.
“Estimated absence – six to nine months.”
This latest injury comes as a huge blow after the New-Zealand-born star spent 10 weeks out with a knee injury last term.
