Watford Defender Braced For City Backlash

Watford defender Christian Kabasele is expecting Manchester City to come out swinging when they clash on Saturday. City’s Premier League title defence has started poorly with just three wins from their opening five games of the 2019-20 season.

Defeat to newly-promoted Norwich at Carrow Road last weekend has left the Citizens trailing rivals Liverpool by five points and they can’t afford another slip up at this early stage.

Rodri warning that they were going to “kill” their next opponents after going down 3-2 to the Canaries.
Fortunately for Watford, City have played in the meantime and they earned a 3-0 win at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday.

However, Kabasele believes the champions will still have plenty of frustration ready to unleash on the Hornets at the Etihad Stadium. “Of course it’s [City] one of the best teams in the league with Liverpool,” said Kabasele. “And they lost their last game, so they will want to put the things right next week.”

Recent rendezvous between the two don’t make pleasant reading for anyone associated with Watford either.
City ran riot to claim a 6-0 victory when they squared off in the FA Cup final in May, while they have won the last 11 meetings across all competitions.

Indeed, you have to go all the way back to 1987 for the last time Watford managed to come out on top in this fixture – a run of 15 games without a victory.

When considering Watford’s start to 2019-20 it looks even more likely that the Vicarage Road outfit will be in for a tough afternoon. They sit rock-bottom of the Premier League following three losses and two draws and have already made a change in the dugout with Quique Sanchez Flores replacing Javi Gracia.
