Former Formula 1 racer Pascal Wehrlein could potentially be returning to the sport with the Toro Rosso team. Wehrlein drove for Manor in 2016 and Sauber last year but was left without a drive for this campaign and opted to switch to the German DTM series for 2018.
However, rumours are suggesting Toro Rosso may look towards him for 2018, with their driver line-up still being finalised.
Pierre Gasly with be moving up the ladder to Red Bull after Daniel Ricciardo opted to leave, while Brendon Hartley could be set to depart after an underwhelming first full season for the Kiwi.
Daniil Kvyat could also be set for a return to the team, which may be announced at his home grand prix in Russia in a couple of weeks.
Wehrlein was dropped from Sauber to make way for Charles Leclerc, who has been very impressive in his debut season.
However, Toro Rosso could offer him another lifeline at the top end of the sport for 2019 as he is now no longer tied to Mercedes.
