Werder Dismiss Keeper Exit Talk

Werder Bremen have shot down reports suggesting goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka will be leaving the club during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been a revelation since arriving at the club from Slavia Prague back in the summer of 2017 and his form has caught the eye of rivals clubs.

Newly-crowned European champions Liverpool and Italian champions Juventus are both on the look-out for a new goalkeeper and have been linked with a raid on the Bundesliga club.

However, Werder sporting director Frank Baumann says neither has been in touch and has dismissed talk of Pavlenka leaving during the close season.

“We plan with Pavlenka for the new season,” he told Weser-Kurier. “There is no offer from Juventus or Liverpool for Jiri Pavlenka.”
