Wilder Keeping Door Open

Deontay Wilder says his options are open for his next fight after beating Dominic Breazeale on Saturday night. Wilder stuck his WBC world heavyweight title on the line in New York against Breazeale and the champion only needed 43 seconds to land the 41st victory of his career after sending his opponent to the canvas.

It was the 33-year-old’s 40th KO of his career, taking his record to 41 wins and a draw for 42 bouts, and he was immediately approached in the ring post-fight by Cuba’s Luis Ortiz. However, when asked about a potential fight against British rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Wilder revealed discussions are already in place about taking on one of the two heavyweights.

“All parties involved are talking,” he told Showtime. “There’s too many people and opinions involved. It will take our teams to sit down, handle things, squash everything and get it done for the fans. “The big fights will happen the way we all benefit. We risk our lives in here, so let us get our time to iron out our differences and you guys will know when it happens.”
