Woodburn Returns But New Loan Move Likely

Ben Woodburn is expected to move out on loan to the Championship again this month after his spell at Sheffield United was cut short.

The Wales international’s time at Bramall Lane did not go to plan as he was often overlooked by Blades boss Chris Wilder, making just seven league appearances, before he then suffered an ankle injury in training.

He is back with the Reds receiving treatment but is unlikely to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans when fit and is set to drop down to the Championship once again for the second half of the campaign.

Despite his tough time in South Yorkshire, there are believed to be a handful of Championship clubs ready to offer the 19-year-old the chance of regular action until the summer and Liverpool are keen for him to exit temporarily again.

Blackburn, Brentford and Hull are among the clubs who have reportedly been in contact about signing Woodburn, who has made 11 senior appearances for the Reds in total, on loan this month.

Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon are interested in taking defender Rafa Camacho on loan. The 18-year-old Portugal youth international made his debut in Monday’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Wolves.
