Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka says his side need to take the positives after a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic scored twice from the penalty spot as Arsenal’s 11-game winning run came to an end.
Xhaka had given Arsenal hope with a sensational free-kick, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a controversial goal after replays showed Alexandre Lacazette handled the ball in the build-up.
Sunday’s draw means Arsenal remain in the top four but that could change if Tottenham overcome Manchester City on Monday night.
Despite the disappointment, Xhaka insists his team just need to move on and work towards the next fixture.
He told the club’s official website: “We can’t be happy if we are 2-1 ahead after being 1-0 down and then not winning.
It was good in the second half and then we were unlucky with the penalty. I think we lost two points today.
“Of course. We know it’s always difficult to play at Palace. It was difficult a year ago. It’s football and we know we can’t win all the games. We tried our best and although it was not our best performance, one point here is alright and we’ll take the positive things from this game. We’ll look forward.”
