Zaha Pushing For Eagles Exit After Ditching Agent

Zaha Pushing For Eagles Exit After Ditching Agent

Wilfried Zaha is reported to have parted company with his agent after failing to secure a move away from Crystal Palace over the summer. The Eagles forward made it clear he wanted to leave Selhurst Park during the transfer window and there was no shortage of interest.

Arsenal and Everton were both known to be keen, while Borussia Dortmund wanted to take him to the Bundesliga. Paris Saint-Germain were also mentioned.

However, despite all the interest, the transfer deadline came and went without a deal being struck and Zaha remains at Selhurst Park.

There are a number of reasons why a move did not happen. Firstly, Palace refused to let him go for anything less than their valuation. Depending on what report you believe, the price tag ranged from £80million up to £100million.

The fact they had also cashed in on Aaron Wan-Bissaka did not help Zaha’s cause because Palace did not need the cash and were reluctant to lose two star players in one summer.

The interested clubs could be blamed for not pushing the boat out as well, but it would appear that Zaha also feels his agent is at fault for not getting a move over the line.

Zaha is reported to have informed Will Salthouse in writing that his services are no longer required.
Salthouse represents the USM agency, who were involved in getting Wan-Bassaka his move to United, which has left Zaha wondering why they could not do the same for him.

The worrying thing for Palace fans is that this action shows Zaha is determined to get a move away from the club, with the player now looking for an agent who can deliver his wish. For now, supporters will be hoping he can knuckle down and focus on his football, but all the fall-out behind the scenes is unlikely to help matters.
