Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen was glad he could repay David Wagner’s trust with a goal against Brighton, but felt Town deserved more.
The Denmark international returned to the Huddersfield starting line-up on Saturday and gave Town a first-minute lead in the clash with the Seagulls.

He admitted he was not certain of selection after missing the win at Wolverhampton Wanderers the previous week through suspension and seeing the Town defence keep a clean sheet.
“As the team performed well while I was suspended, he [Wagner] could have put me on the bench,” he told Town’s YouTube channel. “I was glad that I could pay back and score early in the match.”
However, a red card for Huddersfield’s Steve Mounie turned the tide of the match and Brighton eventually ran out 2-1 winners in Yorkshire, leaving Zanka frustrate don his return to the side.
“We deserved that more things went our way. But they did not and it is incredibly frustrating for us,” he added. “It was one of the days that unfortunately happens once in a while. We did not get what we deserved.”
