Oleksandr Zinchenko will remain at Manchester City at least until January after his proposed move to Real Betis failed to materialise. The 21-year-old Ukraine international appeared on the verge of a permanent exit from the Etihad Stadium given that he has not even been included on the bench for any of City’s opening three matches of the new season.
A move to Wolves earlier in the summer failed to go through as Zinchenko was aiming to stay and fight for his place given that he made eight Premier League appearances last term.
But with him looking surplus to requirements at the start of this season, he appeared to have a change of heart and looked set to move to Spain’s La Liga.
However, City wanted a £16million permanent deal, while Betis had asked to take Zinchenko on loan with a view to a £10.8m deal next summer which was subsequently rejected.
Brahim Diaz will also stay put with City after the 19-year-old Spanish midfielder had been linked with a move to his homeland with Girona.
However, 21-year-old Chidiebere Nwakali has departed to join Polish outfit Rakow Częstochowa on a two-year deal having failed to make a senior appearance for City since he joined in 2015.
