The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in conjunction with the Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation will begin a three-day seminar and workshop today (August 10) in Lagos geared towards training participants in four areas of the para powerlifting sports namely: Athletes, Coaches, Classifiers and Technical Officials, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The seminar and workshop will end on Saturday, August 12.
The seminar and workshop will hold at the Sheraton and Towers Ikeja Lagos and is expected to attract 40 participants from other African countries while 20 will come from Nigeria.
Secretary General of Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation, Oludayo Abulude in a statement stressed the benefits of the seminar.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for our members in Nigeria especially those that do not have funds to attend seminars outside the country to ask questions on the sports.
"This is also an opportunity for Nigeria to increase the tally of our officiating officials in the continent,”
Countries expected to have their officials at the seminar include Ghana, South Africa, Egypt and Tunisia.
