–Says Gunners will benefit from ex-Eagles defender’s experience
Former Nigeria left-back, Ben Iroha has thrown his weight behind the speculated move by Arsenal to hire out-of-contract Nigeria defender, Joseph Yobo.
Iroha who spoke from his USA base said it will be a massive lift for Yobo as well as Arsenal benefitting profittably from the huge experience of the former Super Eagles captain.
“I read about it on the internet and I must say it will be a good one for both sides if the deal goes through”, Iroha began.
“I still look at it as one of those transfer speculations, I have not heard from Yobo neither am I assessable to official information from Arsenal,” he says.
“But one thing is clear, on the strength of the fact Yobo is a free agent, he can join Arsenal or any other team for that matter if a deal is struck.
“And if that happens, i will say congratulations to Yobo and of course Arsenal because both parties has a lot to gain from it.
“For instance, Arsenal have been having defensive problems and I think Yobo could play a big part is finding solution to it.
“And as well the player would have had a window to return to the Premier League and continue from where he left off last season with Norwich City.
“He has Premier League experience and being a hard working player I believe he will bring some measure of steel into the Arsenal back-four”, Iroha stressed.
