Ben Iroha, a former Super Eagles left-back has commended Nigeria U-23 team, Dream Team VI for qualifying for the All Africa Games at the expense of Zambia.
Iroha who spoke to Complete Sports moments after the Samson Siasia team defeated their Young Chipolopolo hosts 2-1 to seal their trip to the All Africa Games said the victory has confirmed the strenght of the team.
“Thank God we won”, Iroha first reacted. “It was a sweet victory, initially I was afraid because we drew with them here in Abuja in the first leg.
“Now, Siasia and his team have confirmed that with determination, we can beat any team. I’m happy, I’m proud of them”, Iroha emphasized.
The former Super Eagles assistant coach advised the NFF to ensure the team enjoyed adequate preparation before the games.
“It’s important to qualify and next is to prepare well to excel at the All Africa Games.
NFF should engage the team in friendly matches so as to prepare them well ahead of the competition”, the one time Golden Eaglets assistant coach added.
