Isreali Club Bank On Kayode’s Transfer Fee To Offset Debts

By Johnny Edward:

Israeli side Maccabi Netanya have revealed that the transfer fee paid for their Nigerian striker Olanrewaju Kayode will be used cover its remaining debts to the players, Israeli daily jpost has reported.

Netanya reportedly sold Kayode to Austrian outfit Austria Vienna for a reported fee of €800,000 and has received a NIS 500,000 loan from the Maccabi Israel center to pay the salaries for the month of February and March which saw the players call off their four-day strike.

But Kayode has demanded that the club pay him his entitlements from an initial agreement regarding his future sale, insisting that he will not sign the deal with Austria Vienna and will drag Netanya to FIFA where he expects to seek redress if he is not compensated accordingly.

The former Golden Eaglets striker has scored 13 goals this season and he is expected to hold talks with the club president which will harp on the contentious agreement reached with Vienna over his sale.
