  • It wasn’t a balanced reportage the account that Alex Iwobi had an impressive performance in the loss against S’hampton. Though it’s true Alex was involved in the two goals Arsenal scored thru Martyian yet the truth is Iwobi was large absent in the 1st 45mins: he gave out possession easily, couldn’t provide any meaningful attacking threat alongside Aubameyang,it’was disappointing how he failed to play to his ratings. He however came to life in the 2nd half following the introduction of Lacazette.

Truth be told Iwobi needs to work on himself, he needs to focus more on his game and be more direct, purposeful and avoid playing to the gallery.Overtime,he’s proved to be better as a 2nd half substitute and as a starter.

God bless you sir for speaking the truth. iwobi is an average player… wonder how he is making the team at arsenal.personally, v not seen anything spectacular about his play. overrated player! saka has more talents than iwobi.

    • I totally disagree with you. Iwobi is not a world class player ; Iwobi is not a high quality player.

What Iwobi is, is a very decent player capable of occasional moments of brilliance.

If those occasional moments of brilliance can happen more often, than I would elevate Iwobi to the status of high quality but for now, he is a very good/decent player (only because the brilliance in him doesn’t come out as regular as say Mane or Aubameyang; but he has got it).

To call him an average player is to say Nigeria is a backward country because she hasn’t got intelligent citizens – you are missing the point.

For me, average players are players who do not have it within them at any point raise their performance or to conjure the odd moments of Magic. Average players are forever average can never lift their game beyond a particular point.

That, in my view, does not apply to Iwobi.
