Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi was in action as 10-man Arsenal narrowly beat Swansea 3-2 at the Emirates.
Theo Walcott bagged a brace and Mesut Ozil scored for Arsenal, while Gylfi Sigurdsson and Borja Baston were on target for Swansea.
Arsenal moved up to second in the league table, while Swansea dropped to 18th.
Iwobi and Mesut Ozil went close for Arsenal in the fifth minute but their efforts was blocked by the Swansea defense.
In the 13th minute Shkodran Mustafi had Arsenal's best chance but his header off Ozil's corner came off the bar.
Leroy Fer almost put Swansea ahead against the run of play on 19 minutes but he sent the ball over the bar from the edge of Arsenal's 18-yard box.
In the 22nd minute Ozil laid a pass for Granit Xhaka whose goal bound shot was blocked by Leon Britton.
Walcott gave Arsenal the lead on 27 minutes profiting from a poor clearance by a Swansea defender.
In the 29th minute Alexis Sanches went close for Arsenal after beating the offside trap but his lob went inches wide.
Walcott doubled Arsenal's lead in the 33rd minute, turning inside the box and firing past Lukasz Fabianski after he was left unmarked from a corner.
Sigurdsson got a goal back for Swansea in the 39th minute, finishing off with his left foot following a mistake by Xhaka.
In the last kick of the first half Federico Fernandez had a very good chance to equalize for Swansea but his free header off Sigurdsson's free-kick went straight to Petr Cech.
Walcott almost grabbed his third goal only to shoot straight at Fabianski after Iwobi had earlier dribbled his way into the Swansea 18.
Ozil scored Arsenal's third in the 57th minute smashing into the roof of the net off a pass from Alexis Sanchez.
Baston made it 3-2 in the 66th minute finishing past Cech after a brilliant pass from Modou Barrow.
Iwobi was substituted for Francis Coquelin.
A minute later Xhaka was was a straight red card for a dangerous foul on Barrow.
Arsenal made a double substitution with alex Oxlade-chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs going in for Ozil and Sanchez.
In the 84th minute Walcott had a huge chance to extend Arsenal lead off a counter but his effort came off the post.
Fer had a good chance to level for Swansea in the 89th minute but headed into the waiting arms of Cech.
Walcott had a golden chance to seal the win for Arsenal but blasted over the bar following a counter by Arsenal.
