Arsenal were surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw by Hull City at the Emirates on Saturday to force a replay in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi was lively for the Gunners before being taken off after 73 minutes.
Mohammed Elneny had the game’s first chance off a clever taken corner in the eight minutes, but his goal-bound shot was blocked by Alex Bruce.
In the 12th minute, Theo Walcott’s cross was headed on target by the lively Danny Welbeck but Eidin Jakupovic made a good save.
Welbeck had another chance in the 17th minute after he was put through by Calum Chambers on for Jakupovic to parry his shot away for a corner kick.
Few seconds later, Iwobi tried to curl a left-foot strike, but his effort went inches off target.
Jakupovic was called to action again in the 29th minute, blocking off a Walcott shot from close range.
In the 34th minute, Laurent Koscielny headed away a dangerous free kick for a corner kick to Hull.
Walcott almost put Arsenal in front on 47 minutes after a kieran Gibbs cut back, once again Jakupovic made a good save.
Iwobi came close on 52 minutes after the ball was laid for him by Elneny, but his shot took a slight deflection off a Hull defender and went for a corner.
Jakupovic had a finger tip to Joel Campbell’s free-kick, which came off the post in the 55th minute, while Mathieu Flamini blazed the rebound over the bar.
Jakupovic made a fine save in the 63rd minute off a Welbeck shot which took a deflection.
Olivier Giroud saw his shot well saved by Jakupovic in the 70th minute.
Harry Maguire made a good run but his left-foot shot hit the side netting.
Sone Aluko, who replaced the ineffective Manchester United loanee Nick Powell, had a very good chance in the 86th minute but David Ospina stopped the goal-bound shot.
Alexis Sanchez saw his free-kick from the edge of the 18-yard box punched away by Jakupovic on 91 minutes.
Giroud came very close on the final minute with a header but once again Jakupovic made a save.
