OB Odense midfielder, Izunna Uzochukwu, has expressed his disappointed that he’s been overlooked by Super Eagles,‎ but is confident he will get another chance to prove his talent ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in October, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The 25 year old who made his debut for the Super Eagles in a Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Dar-Es Salaam told Completesportsnigeria.comthat the current Nigeria side will bounce back from its recent setbacks. ‎

“We’ve had our ups and downs at the national team,” Izunna began in an interview with Completesportsnigeria.com at the Agege Stadium on Friday. ‎

“Now that there seem to be a direction I hope to get back into the team,” he added.

“They did well in the two games they played against Mali and Luxemborg, but they can be better.”

The former Amkar Perm player who joined Odense six months after departing Denmark also revealed major reasons for his exit from the Russian side.

“There were so many issues there weren’t sorted out properly which necessitated my early exit from Amkar,” he added.

“Financially and football wise as well, it wasn’t just what I agreed upon.

“I just had to make a step back to make a better move again.”
