Dragons boss Bernard Jackman says he deserves the stick he is taking from fans at the moment as they lost in the Pro14 to Benetton. The Dragons have now lost ten of their last 17 encounters after succumbing to a 21-17 loss on Saturday.
Many fans vented their feelings at Newport’s Rodney Parade ground as Jackman was pitch side at the end of the contest.
They have now lost their last eight games in a row and a game against Kieran Crowley’s ever-improving Italian side was always going to be a tough contest for them.
Despite the big recruitment drive before the start of the season which saw three Welsh internationals in Ross Moriarty, Richard Hibbard and Rhodri Williams arrive, it has not worked out so far and Jackman is accepting the blame.
“I am getting plenty of abuse but I deserve it when we play like that,” Jackman told reporters after the game.
“It was really poor and I take responsibility for it. Maybe we were a little bit undercooked and maybe we were a little bit over-anxious.
“Maybe built this game up too much and didn’t deal with the pressure as well as we needed to.
“The boys were so passionate about trying to get off to a good start and to get a win to kick-start us.
“Sometimes you can actually want it too much and snatch at things. If you look at some of the errors we made, handling errors for example, it was completely uncharacteristic.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
