Super Eagles defender Jamiu Alimi has expressed joy that the injuries copped by his team-mates in their friendlies against South Africa Premier League side, Amatuks, and the Angolan national team are now easing.
The duo of Tunji Adeniji and Chisom Chikatara were injured in the Eagles' first tune up game against the PSL side while Paul Onobi, Completesportsnigeria.
"The injuries were not as bad as initially feared. The three of them are okay. They took part in training yesterday (Thursday) evening," Alimi told Completesportsniger
"There are no more injuries after the training. We're now focused on the game against Cote d' Ivoire, our last friendly before the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
"Cote d' Ivoire are a quality team in African footballl and I'm sure it will be a good game for us. We need that challenge. The prayer is that there won't be any injuries."
In the last six meetings between Nigeria and Cote d' Ivoire, the Ivorians have had an edge, winning on four occasions, with the Eagles claiming two victories.
The home-based Super Eagles will play against Niger, Tunisia and Guinea in Group C of the 2016 Africa Nations Championship in Rwanda.
