Nigeria's Group B opponent at the 2016 Rio Olympics men's football event, Japan, have dropped forward Kubo Yuya from the squad to face the U-23 Eagles in their opening group game in Manaus in the early hours of Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Young Boys of Switzerland player who wasn't released for the games has since been replaced with Niigata's star Suzuki Musashi, according to a report on the Japanese Football Federation website.

Japan are in Group B, facing Nigeria on Friday morning and Colombia on Sunday 7. They will meet Sweden in the third match in Salvador.
