Japan’s Osako Named MOTM In Win Over Colombia

Yuya Osako has been voted the Budweiser Man of the Match in Tuesday’s 2018 World Cup Group H 2-1 win by Japan over Colombia at Mordovia Arena, Saransk.

Werder Bremen star Osako scored the winner via a header in the 79th minute after Juan Quintero 39th minute free-kick had cancelled out Shinji Kagawa’s opener in the third minute from the spot.

The goal was Osako’s seventh in 29 international appearances for Japan.

The win saw Japan make history as the first Asian to beat a team from South America after 18 attempts at the FIFA World Cup.

Japan will look to consolidate on their wiin when they face Senegal in their next game.
