Watford boss Javi Gracia has been impressed with Ben Wilmot since he joined the Hornets and has praised his versatility. The 18-year-old made the move from Stevenage in the summer and was not expected to be involved much in the first team this season, but he started in the Carabao Cup victory over Reading on Wednesday.
The teenager normally operates at centre-back and was used there and in central midfield against the Royals, with Gracia pleased with what he saw.

“I think he played very well because we started playing with a 4-3-3 but saw that Reading changed and played with three back, which they do not usually do,” Gracia said in the Watford Observer.
“We changed and Ben played as a centre-back with Adrian Mariappa and Sebastian Prodl and he adapted quickly. He played very well without any mistakes and played with personality.
“Ben can play as a centre-back but we needed more players in midfield and he has played there more times since joining. He has always played well and it is a virtue to be able to adapt and play different positions.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
