Torino midfielder Joel Obi has resumed training with his club ahead of Sunday’s Serie A home fixture against Fiorentina Completesportsnigeria.com can report today.
Joel Obi suffered an overload on his flexor muscles and there were fears he would miss Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania. But his return to training put him in good stead of being available for Sunday Oliseh.
According to Torino’s official website, Joel Obi began a personal program on Thursday as he works his way to full recovery.
It remains to be seen if Joel Obi will take part in Friday’s technical and tactical session which will be behind closed doors.
Joel Obi made his international debut for Nigeria on 9 February 2011 in a friendly game with Sierra Leone in Lagos and has chalked up 16 appearances for the Super Eagles.
Recall that the 24-year-old Nigeria international joined Torino for a reported fee of €2.4m fee on a four year deal.
