Wales international Declan John has admitted it was tough to leave Cardiff City after falling down the pecking order in the Welsh capital.
The 23-year-old started his career with the Bluebirds and helped them reach the Premier League before suffering relegation with the side under then manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Now playing at rivals Swansea after a spell at Rangers, John has admitted he enjoyed playing under Solskjaer and was disappointed with how his time at the Cardiff City Stadium came to an end.
He told Wales Online: “I loved being managed by Solskjaer because I was a (Manchester) United fan and I was in the team for the most part.
“He signed Fabio but I started when the season kicked off, but then Russell Slade came in and all of a sudden I was out of the team and it was never really explained to me why that had happened.
“It is something that has happened two or three times in my career. I’ve been training well and playing well. Everyone has different opinions but I felt I could have done more.
“It was so tough mentally, I was 19 and I had gone from the Premier League to playing on loan in League One.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
