Johnson Issues Ryder Cup Warning

Dustin Johnson has fanned the flames ahead of the Ryder Cup, saying he feels sorry for any Europeans who face him and Brooks Koepka. Johnson and Koepka are ranked one and two in the world rankings respectively and will lead the USA charge as the players from across the pond try to win the Ryder Cup away from home for the first time in 25 years.

The duo are among the biggest hitters in the game and have both enjoyed superb years on the PGA Tour.

Koepka has two majors to his name in 2018, while Johnson has won three times, and it remains to be seen if US captain Jim Furyk opts to pair them together at Le Golf National next month.

The 34-year-old hopes he does and has warned any opposition players to beware.

“The Ryder Cup is one of my favourite events we play,” said Johnson. “I’m definitely looking forward to hopefully or possibly partnering up with Brooks. I think we’d make a pretty good team and I feel bad for anyone who would have to play us.”

Johnson was paired with Koepka in the Saturday afternoon fourballs two years ago and the duo lost 3&1 to Rory McIlroy and Thomas Pieters.
