Mark Johnston has equalled the all-time record number of British winners for a racehorse trainer, saddling his 4,193rd at Ripon.
The 59-year-old now shares the record with Richard Hannon after Quintada scored at 9/2 in the fillies’ maiden at Doncaster before Dr Richard Kimble won the final race at the North Yorkshire venue.
Dr Richard Kimble made every yard of the running under Joe Fanning in the mile-and-a-half handicap at Ripon and the man who has ridden for the Middleham handler for many years paid tribute to his boss.
“It’s nice to be on the one that equals the record,” said Fanning. “This is a nice horse, he’s been to some of the bigger meetings, and the blinkers helped him bounce back today.
“It’s a great firm to ride for, I’ve been there a very long time now. They never tie you down with orders. I’ve been with him so long I think we both know each other well enough now.
“His horses are so straightforward and usually very simple to ride.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
