Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe has admitted that he is considering his international options, with Nigeria one of his choices.
The 19-year-old winger is eligible for both England and Nigeria – through his father – but has played at youth levels for the former.
Ibe has caught the eye for Liverpool this season since his recall from a loan spell at Championship side Derby, and he has been tipped for the England U-21s for the European Championship this summer.
But he has refused to rule out playing for the Super Eagles in the future.
When asked where his senior international future lay during a UK Guardian interview, Ibe said the decision would not be his alone.
“It is a decision I have been thinking about, but not one I need to make yet,” he said. “When I do have a choice to make I will sit down with my family, and probably the gaffer here as well, and see what’s the best decision.”
If Ibe makes the switch to Nigeria, he would be following in the footsteps of Victor Moses and Shola Ameobi, both of whom ended up with the Super Eagles despite playing for England youth sides.
Moses went on to become a key player for the Eagles and was pivotal in the side’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2013.How Natural Herbal Remedy Killed Stubborn Staphylococcus, Ecoli And Aureus And Other Infections
