Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was on Wednesday unveiled as a Juventus player.
Szczesny’s transfer was confirmed in a statement on the club’s official website which revealed it was a four-year contract.
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with The Arsenal Football Club Plc for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Wojciech Szczęsny has been finalized for a consideration of € 12.2 million payable in 2 financial years,” the Italian champions announced in a press statement.
“The purchase value may increase of maximum € 3.1 million on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract.
“Juventus and the player have signed a 4-year contract of employment until 30 June 2021.”
The keeper, 27, had spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma, but he will now be Gianluigi Buffon’s deputy and possibly first choice when the Italian legend retires.
At his first press conference as a Bianconeri, the keeper was almost reduced to tears when asked how difficult it was to leave Arsenal
“This is a difficult question to answer,” Szczesny said.
“I believe in myself and I am ready for this challenge. I wanted to take a step up in my career and Juventus is the biggest step I could take.
“I saw Allegri this morning, I saw him for 15 seconds because I was training in the gym. I am not 20 anymore, I am 27 and I want to win trophies.
“This club only want to win, that’s the mentality of this club and that’s why [I was pushed to leave Arsenal and Roma].Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
