Kaduna To Host Eagles, Chad AFCON Tie

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the 2017 Africa Cup of Nation (Afcon) qualifier between Nigeria and Chad will be played in Kaduna.

The Super Eagles will go toe to toe with Les Sao (Chad’s National football team) on June 13 in 2017 Afcon qualifying clash and the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna has been chosen as the venue for the fixture.


Confirming the news to supersport on Tuesday, General Secretary of the NFF, Mohammed Sanusi explained that “logistics will be put in place to ensure for a smooth sailing encounter.
“Kaduna has been chosen as host city for the game which will be played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

“All the logistics will be put in place to ensure for a hitch-free encounter on June 13,” he said.
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi says he has no problems with the choice of Kaduna as venue for the fixture against Chad.

“If the NFF has decided that the game will be played in Kaduna I have no problems with it. I am sure it is going to be the same for the players.

“Kaduna has hosted games played by the Super Eagles in the past and everything went well.
“The fans there are wonderful and the pitch is in great condition, so no problems at all,” he told supersport.com on Tuesday.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, failed to qualify for the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea.
