Nigerian winger, Samuel Kalu, was on target in KAA Gent's 3-1 home win against Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian top flight at the Ghelamco Arena on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Kalu scored in the seventh minute to put Gent 1-0 up – his first league goal and second in all competitions for the club after joining from Slovakian side AS Trencin in January 2017.
Yuya Kubo made 2-0 with his 30th minute goal, while Jeremy Perbet converted a 52nd minute penalty kick to triple the lead for Gent.
Luka Stojanovic scored Mouscron's consolation goal in the 59th minute.
Also in action for Gent was Anderson Esiti who was subbed off on 67 minutes.
Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong and Rabiu Ibrahim were unused substitutes for Gent.
Still in the Belgian top flight, Osaguona Ighodaro featured for KV Mechelen in their 2-2 away draw against Standard Liege.
Ighodaro was introduced for Yohan Croizet with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Nigerian forward, Fred Friday, rescued a point for AZ Alkmaar who held visiting PEC Zwolle to a 1-1 draw in the Dutch Eredivisie (first division) on Sunday.
Friday who was introduced for Guus Til in the 71st minutes, scored in the 82nd minute to help his team share the points.
And in the Portuguese Super League, Oghenekaro Etebo was on from the start for Feirense who held home team Nacional to a 0-0 draw.
Etebo was later replaced by Paulo Monteiro in the 89th minute.
