Kalusha: Morocco Are Worthy CHAN 2018 Champions

By James Agberebi:‎ Zambian football legend, Kalusha Bwalya says hosts of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) were worthy winners after they thrashed 10-man Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-0 in the final on Sunday I’m Casablanca, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

A brace from Zakaria Hadraf and a goal each from tournament leading scorer with goals, Ayoub Kaabi, and Walid El Karti, gave Morocco a deserved win.

Nigeria’s Peter Eneji who only made his first appearance in the tournament in the final against Morocco, was sent off for a second yellow card offence.

Morocco become the first country to host and win the CHAN since its inception in 2009.

Reacting to the outcome of the final, Bwalya remarks that the Moroccans showed hunger right from the start of the game.

“Good football from the hosts today. They were determined from the word go,” the 1988 African Footballer of the Year wrote on his verified Twitter handle.

  • @Kalusha Bwalya, why don’t you talk about the awful display of the Zambian team Chipolopolo. The way you are praising the Desert Atlas is like you are subtly saying Nigeria was awfully disappointing. If Zambia were to play Morocco, it would be 10-0. This is the Moroccan World Cup team for crying out loud. Nigeria CHAN team will beat Zambian CHAN team. You know it @Kalusha. Let me ask you: can this Moroccan team beat our World Cup team of Ezenwa/Ajiboye, Troost, Balogun, Abdullahi, Echiejele, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Ndidi, Onazi, Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo. Will the Desert Atlas survive with 10 men? No na. So know how you talk.

    • Stop disgracing yourself online. Were the Moroccans not better? And for info, the world cup bound team of Morocco are all foreign base. None of them, i repeat none played the CHAN final. Their display is an evidence of a well structured league not the NPFL that hardly register home loses. spits!

      • Josh ure so wrong, I could spot at least 7 moroccoan players who played in the last world cup qualifiers

    • @djch my friend if you are going to argue and render insults please do so with facts and stop getting all defensive and childish when anybody speaks the truth.. and @Josh is right Morocco’s World cup bound squad is full of European players and their star player Medhi Benatia plays for Juventus in Italy and is in the Starting 11 of Juventus

Bro! This isnt the moroccan World Cup Team! just two players have been selected by Herve Renard (Coach of Atlas Lions) ; El Hadraf and Ben Charki
This Players that Morocco displayed are purely players from top Four Morrocan Clubs; Wydad Casablanca (African Champion League Winner 8 players)… the difference between Nigeria and Morocco is simple: Morocco ensured on the top Players in the top four were selected with One or two from others! which helped them in terms of cordiality, gelling and performance……Nigeria relegated a League Winning Goalkeeper to 3rd Choice 9Dele Ajiboye Plateau United) None of MFM Players are in the 23 man Squad!
All in All, the Eagles were exposed by Morocco who did their home work by allowing merit to dictate selection than Nigeria where Players like Okpotu ( League Top Scorer (10 penalties and 8 goals in 36 matches) Rabiu Ali (kano pillars completely wasnt ready for the tourney but was favoured ahead of other excellent players

  • Nigeria was very POOR , no excuses !!

    He should go and sleep,Zambia can’t even won a match,we played 6 games,won 4,draw 1&lose 1.
    Better than most team.

They were far better than the so called CHAN Eagles, who only fumbled their way into the finals. It depicts the quality of the Moroccan league and the hunger and desire on the part of the players. The Morocco team on display yesterday would beat the Super Eagles silly, if we play with the same usual lackadaisical approach to games #myopinion

I agree that the Morrocan team where better but the way Kalusha is sounding it’s as if he still has some grudges against Nigeria for beating Zambia to the world cup ticket. Lol
