Harry Kane made history as the third English player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup game after scoring thrice in England’s 6-1 demolition of Panama in a Russia 2018 World Cup Group F clash at the Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday.
Kane has joined Geoff Hurst (1966) and Gary Lineker (1986) in the list of England players to score a World Cup hat-trick.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker is now the top scorer of the competition with five goals, one more than Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku in the race for the golden boot.
Gareth Southgate’s men got off to a perfect start with centre-back John Stones heading home the opener from a corner kick in the eight minute.
Kane added the second from the spot in the 22nd minute after Jesse Lingard was brought down inside the box.
England didn’t relent despite the two- goal lead and Lingard increased the lead from a sublime shot outside the box in the 36th minute.
Stones got his second of the game five minutes before the break nodding home from a free-kick.
It was the turn of Kane to hit the back of the net for the second time in the game after converting from the spot a minute before the break.
He got his third of the game in the 64th minute after Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s shot from the edge of the box clipped his heel and floated into the net.
There was consolation for Panama as Felipe Baloy scored their first ever World Cup goal 12 minutes from time.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
