Goalkeeper David Obiazor is close to a switch to Kano Pillars, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Obiazor was Saturday dropped from the home-based Super Eagles squad that flew out of the country for a two-week training camp in Pretoria, South Africa, ahead of the 2016 Championship for African Nations slated to start on January 16 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Completesportsnigeria.com understands that Obiazor has had talks with the hierarchy of the Sai Masugida side during which his personal terms highlighted the discussions.
Pillars have also communicated Obiazor's club, Heartland, intimating the Naze Millionaires on their interest on the goalkeeper.
"We've written to Heartland to convey our desire to sign Obiazor," Idris Malikawa, spokesman of Kano Pillars, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"That is the first appropriate step to take because we're a professional side always guided by the tenets of due process."
Completesportsnigeria.com also sought for clarification from Heartland on Kano Pillars' claim.
Solomon Onu, image maker of the Naze Millionaires, said he has not been officially informed but quickly stressed there could be a likelihood of such expression of interest coming in from Pillars.
