Theives broke into the houses of Jamiu Alimi and Prince Aggreh while the Kano Pillars pair were in action for their club in the 6-0 Nigeria Professional Football League bashing of Shooting Stars on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
While they were in action, the burglars broke in and stole their appliances, jewellery and watches worth hundreds of thousands of naira, Alimi told Completesportsnigeria.com late on Sunday night.
“It was bittersweet for me,” Alimi, who featured for Shooting Stars last season before joining Pillars at the start of the campaign, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I was excited about our big win in the league only to get to see that all our valuables were gone to robbers when we got home.”
According to the Nigerian international, the act was clearly calculated, as the burglars broke in knowing the duo would be away.
Both players have played in all 12 games for Pillars this season.
