French midfielder N’Golo Kante has signed a new five-year deal at Chelsea until 2023, the club has confirmed.
The deal according to multiple sources is thought to be worth up to £290,000 a week.
Kante joined Chelsea for a reported £30million in 2016 and was instrumental to the Blues title-winning side in his debut season.
“I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come,” the 27-year-old told Chelsea’s official website.
“Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.”
The 27-year-old Kante is one of seven players to start each of the opening 12 Premier League games under new boss Maurizio Sarri who are unbeaten in the English Premier League and lie in third, four points behind leaders Manchester City.
He is expected to make is 13th start of the season on Saturday when Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley stadium.
