Former Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu is optimistic that the FA Cup and Community Shield kings will bounce back from their opening day Barclays Premier League 2-0 defeat by West Ham United.
Arsene Wenger’s team suffered the ignominy of having their fantastic pre-season form called into question with a goal each by Stoke’s Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate.
Former Super Eagles and two-time African Footballer of the Year, Kanu was live at The Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday and interviewed by Arsenal Player.
“Bad result, but there is another day, so come on Arsenal.
“What a good interview today at the Stadium. Good to see the supporters and feel them again. Wonderful support never die,” Kanu, who joined the Gunners in 1999 and was rated the 13th best player by the club’s supporters in a poll conducted by the club’s website in 2008 enthused.
Arsenal’s next game is an away fixture against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, August 16.
