Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu has hailed his club Papilo FC for winning the Imo State Federation Cup.
In the final that was played on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Papilo FC stunned Heartland FC 1-0 to emerge champions.
Reacting to the win, Kanu also reserved special praise for the club's coach Obinna Yaya for guiding the team to victory.
Kanu wrote on his Twitter handle: "We thank you all for all your support. Congrats Papilo academy/football club for winning the FA Cup, Papilo 1-0 Heartland.
"Well done the management of Papilo academy/football club and well done boys. Well done the youngest coach Obinna Yaya."
For emerging finalists in the Imo State Federation Cup, both Papilo FC and Heartland will now represent their state at the national level.
