Kanu Endorses Nollywood Star, Elliot For Political Post

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Former Super Eagles striker and two-time African Footballer of the Year, Nwankwo Kanu is rooting for Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot in his political pursuit.

Elliot’s chances of winning a seat in to the Lagos State House of Assembly are seemingly increasing by the day if the latest endorsement from one of Nigeria’s finest footballers of all time is anything to go by.

Kanu has joined the slew of the numerous supporters the actor has garnered so far.

‘Papilo’ was on hand at a Widows forum in Lagos to throw his support to the political bid of the actor.

Kanu while delivering a speech at the forum, revealed that he believes Desmond Elliot will make the people of Surulere proud when elected into the Lagos House of Assembly.

“It is a thing of joy that someone like Desmond wants to serve his constituency.

“I believe he will do a good job of it. He will make Surulere proud surely,” Kanu said.

Elliot is one of many Nigerian showbiz stars to venture into politics ahead of the 2015 elections although Completesportsnigeria.com gathered from a source at an award night recently held in Lagos that actor and comedian Julius Agwu has stepped down in the running for the 2015 gubernitorial race in Rivers State.
