Nigeria legend, Nwankwo Kanu is about now embarking on a 3km walk – precisely from 7.30am today (Thursday), in celebration of the World Heart Day, officials of Kanu Heart Foundation have told Completesportsnigeria.com.
September 29 is designed by the United Nations as World Heart Day and the former Nigeria captain who underwent heart surgery at Cleveland Hospital, USA, in 1997, and who is also a United Nations Ambassador, has revealed he will celebrate this year’s edition with some celebrities who will also join him in doing the 3-km walk.
According to the organizers, the 3km walk will flag off at MITV ground Ikeja through Awolowo Road Under Bridge.
“There will be free health clinic at the end of the walk,” informs Kanu Heart Foundation KHF Coordinator, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia.
“Celebrities like Segun Arinze, AY, D’Banj, Chinedu Ikedieze of the Aki & Pawpaw, and PSquare fame are among the litany of celebrities who have confirmed participation in the exercise.
“There are also Chief Executive Officers of Corporate organizations who have confirmed participation,” Abia discloses.
The World Heart Day is celebrated every year by the United Nations.
