Super Eagles trio; Brown Ideye, John Ogu, Elderson Echiejile and former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu have all expressed their delight following the Eagles 3-1 win against Algeria in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Saturday in Uyo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Goals from Chelsea pair Victor Moses and skipper Mikel John Obi secured the win for the Eagles.
The win give the Super Eagles a strong hold of Group C on six points while Algeria are rooted bottom of the group.
Reacting to the win, Ideye who was an unused substitute in the game, described the performance of the team as wonderful while dedicating it to God.
"Great win, wonderful performance. Great God. Believe," the Olympiakos forward wrote on his Twitter handle.
Standard Liege defender, Echiejile who played 90 minutes in the game was delighted with the three points while hailing the Uyo fans for their wonderful support.
Echiejile twitted: "Great three points! Good team spirit and work! Thank God Almighty, fans were amazing."
For Ogu who was benched throughout the encounter praised the display of his teammates.
"Great win and a wonderful performance from everyone. Thanks everyone for a wonderful support," Ogu wrote on his Twitter handle.
Kanu Nnwankwo congratulated the players, the head coach and his crew, the Nigeria Football Federation and the fans on famous win.
Kanu tweeted: "Congratulations boys, we are proud of you all, well done. Well done to the coach and his crew and well done Mikel, the boys, NFF and supporters."
