By James Agberebi:
Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu is still in shock following the Super Falcons elimination in the group stage of the on-going FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.
After holding Sweden to an intriguing 3-3 draw in their first game, the Falcons lost 2-0 and 1-0 to Australia and USA respectively, thereby crashing out of the tournament.
Former Super Eagles captain, stated that he had high hopes in the team after their first game against Sweden.
Kanu wrote on his Twitter handle: "Can someone tell me what really went wrong with our Falcons? The girls did well in the first game against Sweden and I thought they will fly but…"
The last time the Falcons progressed from the group stage was at the USA 1999 Women's World Cup.
The team has failed to make it to the knockout stage in the last four editions of the World Cup.
