Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu has charged the Super Eagles players to show belief as they get set to feature at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Super Eagles will be making their sixth appearance at the World Cup in Russia, where they will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in Group D.
They will kick off their campaign against Croatia on Saturday, June 16.
Kanu who represented Nigeria at three World Cups – France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010 – urged the players to go an do the country proud.
“The Super Eagles our dear team are in Russia and the boys are ready,” Kanu wrote on his Instagram page.
“No stopping, KAN U Believe? it’s all about believe, believe, believe, I believe, do you believe? Let’s all support pray and give them all that will make them do us proud because I know one day Eagles will make us proud like papilo. We can do it.
“Come on boys go and tell the world who we are. Best jersey and best football.”
