Middlesbrough coach Aitor Karanka is targeting his first home win in the English Premier League when his lads file out against Watford on Sunday reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Karanka's side have lost to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur at the Riverside this season but the Spanish tactician believes with the right attitude they can celebrate a win in the topflight in front of his home fans on Sunday.
The two sides last met in the Premier League in April 2007 when the Teesiders ran out 4-1 winners at the Riverside.
And with their only win so far this season at away to Sunderland in August, Karanka is aware of the experience Watford possess in their ranks having to deny them maximum points at home.
"We've had an international break, but in our last game at West Ham we played with the right organisation and attitude," he said in his post match conference ahead of the game, Karanka said.
"We have to go to the pitch on Sunday with the same attitude, and hopefully we can win our first game at home this season.
"It's an important game. Watford are another good example for us.
"We have to keep learning and adding experience, as we have the quality to succeed in this league.
"Watford had an amazing season last year, they had safety very early – and now they have more experience.
"Watford have one more season of experience in the Premier League than us, so it will be tough. We have to be 100%.
Recall that Boro are win-less in their last five games against the Hornets, losing three times.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
